How to calculate pounds into tons:
1 ton = 2000 lbs example: 500 lbs = 500/2000 = .25 tons Yards vs scoops
2 scoops = 1 cubic yard Cubic feet vs cubic yards: There are 27 cubic feet in 1 cubic yard Tons vs cubic yards: There are approx. 1.25-1.5 tons per cubic yard Did you know? To "flag" a stone is to make a stone thinner. Many "flagstones" are split or delaminated from larger blocks to form a smooth sheet of stone.
The approximate size of a 1-ton boulder is 1.5 feet tall x 3 feet wide x 3 feet long.
For walkways or patios covered with pea gravel, choose smaller gravel to walk on. For driveways, consider a slightly larger gravel to keep stones from sticking in the tire treads.
Most applications require only 2-inches of gravel. For driveways and parking pads, consider using 2" of Crush-N-Run as a base. Helpful Calculating Tools:
